Autumn Roots for Resilience

A Hands On Herbal Medicine Class at Goldenrose Gardens

When:  Saturday, October 14th 1-4pm

Where:  Goldenrose Gardens in Hardwick, VT

Who:  Geared for beginners, teens and adults, interested in supporting their health with natural remedies. 

In this three hour experiential intensive, we'll engage all our senses as we learn about the cultivation, harvest and processing of roots for medicine.  Bring your digging fork and take home fresh roots that you can use to make your own medicine with the skills and know-how from the workshop.  

We'll focus primarily on the well-studied benefits of Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb grown as an annual in VT, that supports the body's ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and restore healthy physiological functioning.  We will sample different herbal preparations such as tea, tincture & tasty bliss balls so you can experience the herbal preparation that best suits you.  In addition you'll also go home with seeds for starting your own plants next Spring and a handout with notes on growing, harvesting & medicine making.

Cost: $75 suggested, sliding scale available

A minimum of 6 participants are needed to run the class.

What to Bring:  Garden digging fork & water bottle.  Dress for the weather in clothes you don't mind getting dirty. 

About the Instructor:  Erin Rosenthal has been studying plant medicine and making natural remedies for over 15 years.  In 2018 she completed the Clinical Herbalist training at Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism.  She started Goldenrose Gardens in 2020 with the goal of growing medicine for her family and community.
